Voluntary workers desiring to work in Cape Town as health professionals, general workers, caregivers, aides or administrative staff in mental health group homes and facilities are invited to apply for a 6-12 month position. No previous experience is required.

Community Mental Health & Psychiatry (CMHP) provides all inclusive services to more than 300 long-term service users in the mental health field. These include adults with a psychiatric diagnosis like Schizophrenia and children with severe and profound intellectual disabilities. No formal training is required to work in any position up to care giving, but a passion to serve people and assist clients to develop their full potential, is paramount. Social workers, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Nursing and other health related compliments will have to provide proof of registration. Students, who are not yet qualified, should provide proof from their Academic Institution.

Although the worker enters into an agreement with CMHP, (s)he must be self supported as Voluntary workers are not remunerated, and should be willing to work and be treated as employees. Accommodation and some meals may be supplied by CMHP. They have 8 facilities in Cape Town and surrounding areas with their Head Office in Brackenfell, Cape Town.
